Ann Canas

Project Strategist + Wordsmith

Ann Butler Canas credits her dad, a university professor and linguist, with instilling an extensive vocabulary almost before she could talk. So of course she majored in English at Brown University where she received her BA.

An instinctive communicator, Ann excelled in her early career as an on-camera television broadcaster. Her Emmy Award winning work for Post-Newsweek Broadcasting led to anchoring and hosting for WABC-TV in New York, and finally to on-air correspondent duties in New York for CBS Sports Network Television.

Following her TV career, Ann combined a long-standing love of modern design and architecture with her communications skill set, and went on to work in business development, branding, and marketing in the design and real estate industries. As Creative Marketing Director for a Denver real estate developer, Ann was responsible for overall design direction on a $30 million,125,000 sq. ft. landmark lofts project in the heart of downtown Denver. She worked with Dickinson Lab to develop new brand imaging and influential strategic marketing for the project. Her many collaborations with Dickinson also include a highly successful re-branding, advertising, and public relations campaign that led to the lucrative sale of one of Miami’s largest luxury real estate brokerages.

Ann’s enthusiasm for great design continues in her current role as Project Strategist + Wordsmith for Dickinson Lab. Her innate way with words and ideas along with keen design and visual acumen, make her a key Dickinson team member who creatively relates to and elevates every project. Ann is passionate about protecting the oceans, service, sharing, and faith.
